Selected Biography

I'm 25 years old and have a First Class Masters Degree in Engineering (MEng) from the University of Durham. I specialised in New and Renewable Energy and hope to make this a part of my future career in Engineering. In September 2007 I started on a Graduate Programme with AMEC Natural Resources based in their Aberdeen office working as an Electrical Engineer on various offshore oil and gas projects. If I had been at University in America I would have minored in Ironical Studies.

Whilst at University I developed a passion for the night sky and amateur astronomy. I also became more serious about photography which has advanced along with the astronomy, including forays into astrophotography. I have a great passion for music, including everything from indie and rock through to jazz, folk and electronica, and enjoy discovering exciting new bands as well as occasionally getting my own electric or bass guitar out for a jam. Besides this I like to read, watch films, hike and climb in the mountains of Scotland, go running and play badminton.

• I find closed shower curtains deeply disturbing
• I believe there aren't enough ancient proverbs relating to socks
• I believe that a cup of tea can solve anything
