Scotland's Mountains

I've been hiking and backpacking in the hills and mountains of Scotland since 2007 when I moved up to Aberdeen. I've written up reports for most of my trips and kept notes about routes and gear which are collected in this area of my website alongside photos and links to other outdoor bloggers. There is also an area all about wild camping and a link to my portfolio of Scottish mountain landscape photographs.

Astronomy

I'm interested in all aspects of astronomy, from amateur observation of the sky with my own 8" telescope through to keeping up with the latest in cosmology and space missions. This section will be used to store observing reports as well as archive articles I have written to do with astronomy as well as collecting links and images.

Travel

Read my journal from a trip to New Zealand in July - August 2007 and have a look through the New Zealand Collection and my Best of New Zealand photoset on Flickr.

Have a look at my photos from a trip to the Lot region of France in 2005.

Music

I am interested in a wide range of musical genres from indie-rock and pop through to electronica, jazz and folk. I try to find and promote new and exciting artists and spend far too much time tracking stats on Last.fm.

This area of the website will primarily be used as an archive for articles and reviews I've written as well as a place for music related links and images.

Contents: Review Archive · Articles Archive · Music Images · Music Links

Photography

I enjoy getting out and about with my Panasonic DMC-FZ7 Digital Camera, taking a wide range of shots, learning as I go and sharing my photos on Flickr.

This area of the site will be used to document some of the interesting things I've found out in the big wide world, particularly to do with atmospheric optics and also provide links to the albums and collections I have on Flickr.

Check out where my photos have ended up on this page.

Engineering

I have a First Class Master of Engineering Degree from the University of Durham and in September 2007 started as a Graduate Electrical Engineer with AMEC Natural Resources.

This section will be developed in the future particular to help track my involvement with the Institute of Engineering and Technology as well as archiving articles and links.
