Travel · Hillwalking in Scotland

I enjoy getting out into the mountains and hills of Scotland, from the high plateau of the Cairngorms to the stunning ridges of the North-West Highlands. Before getting a car I explored Royal Deeside which is served by the excellent Stagecoach Buses running between Aberdeen and Braemar. For £14 you can purchase an Explorer ticket which can be used all day on any of their buses. I have used the 201 which runs hourly on a Saturday with the first bus departing Aberdeen at 07:45. I now have a car which is allowing me to get further afield and explore more remote areas of the country.

I am also a member of the Stocket Hillwalking Club, a very friendly group of Aberdeen-based walkers who hire a coach out for a monthly day walk. You can find out more about them on the Stocket Hillwalking Club website.

The reports page contains a record of my walks including a link to photos and my journal entry as well as route guides and other useful bits of information. I am also plotting my start points on a map for future use, this can be found here. For wild camping related stuff, which I am just getting into, see this dedicated wild camp page.

My photos have been featured in this guide to a traverse of Liathach on the excellent Walk Highlands website.
