Notes

A clear, albeit hazy early summer evening

Observations

Thin Crescent Moon

With Mercury around greatest elongation and a thin crescent moon around I went up to Kincorth Nature reserve. It was a very hazy evening which gave me a spectacular sunset. With the glow fading I then turned my attention to the crescent moon which could be seen hanging high in the west. It was only a couple of days after new and so was beautifully slender. I attempted to locate Mercury, but with both the light sky and haze around it was not possible to locate the planet which should only have been a few degrees from the Moon.
