Observations

Partial Solar Eclipse

After spending far too long looking at weather forecasts and predicted cloud cover we finally decided to head south, looking for breaks in the cloud along the coast. Once on the A90 it looked better inland and so we headed to the summit of the Cairn o' Mount road where we got one of the last parking spaces. We soon had the telescope, camera and viewers set up and proceeded to enjoy the spectacular view from this panoramic location. The crescent thinned to the point of greatest eclipse, about 94%, at approximately 09:37.
